The AtlantaCon 2026 scale model show, hosted by IPMS Atlanta and IPMS Marietta, took place on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Held at the IAM Local 709 Union Hall in Marietta, Georgia, the event served as a major gathering for modelers across the Southeast, featuring a high-stakes contest and a bustling vendor room. 

 

Event Highlights & Atmosphere

Attendees described a day filled with "Southern Hospitality" and exceptional talent. The show floor was packed with meticulously crafted miniatures, with a particular surge in specific genres: 

  • Sci-Fi & Fantasy: The vendors featured a heavy presence of space-themed kits, including the Enterprise ESNW Enterprise, and classic monsters like The Wolfman and Cyclops.
  • Military & Armor: The armor categories saw high participation, with standout entries including weathered Tiger tanks and crisp P-51 Mustangs in 1/35 and 1/48 scales.
  • Gundam & Figures: A notable increase in Gunpla and figure entries reflected the growing diversity of the modern modeling community. 

 

Competition Details

The contest followed a structured schedule with registration ending at noon, followed by judging and a 4:00 PM awards ceremony
